How He's in the Game
Despite the grueling 162 game MLB schedule, Braves’ pitcher Tim Hudson still finds the time to volunteer in his community and lend a hand to the less privileged. In addition to his charitable works with the Atlanta Braves, he has donated his time to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In order to make one young fan’s dreams come true, Hudson brought the boy onto the field during batting practice and gave him a custom Atlanta Braves jersey. He and his wife also started the Hudson Family Foundation in order to help who require physical, emotional, or financial support. By providing grants, scholarships, books, and of course, Braves tickets, the foundation has already touched the lives of hundreds of children. “My wife Kim and I are so thankful to have been placed in a position to be able to help children and families in need,” explains Tim, “We know that we are here to serve others.”
About Tim Hudson
With an 11-2 record in his first year in the majors, Hudson earned American League Rookie of the Year honors. Since then, he has remained one of the league’s most consistent performers, recording a wining record in every season of his professional career and making the All-Star Roster in 2000, 2004, and 2010.
