How He's in the Game
In 1998, the same year he was drafted, Vince founded the Embassy of Hope Foundation. It’s slogan, “Believing in Your Dreams,” demonstrates the organization’s commitment to helping children, as well as their families, reach their fullest potential. In the last decade, the Embassy of Hope Foundation has helped uplift impoverished Florida communities through grants, scholarships, and used clothing distribution. He’s funded infrastructure improvements at his former high school and helped many young people fund their college education. Moreover, Vince and his mother donated $1.6 million to the Stewart-Marchman Foundation to fund the construction of a 100-bed substance abuse treatment facility in Flagler County. He's also heavily involved in the community outreach initiatives of the Orlando Magic, donating tickets to home games on a consistent basis.
In 2007, Vince’s efforts were recognized by Florida Governor Charlie Crist, who presented him with the Points of Life Award. Of his commitment to philanthropy, Vince says, “Just as my success was not reached in isolation, the success of other young people needs the support of many.”
